Smith will be remembered as Springfield’s most acclaimed and best loved folk artist.

Robert E. Smith, a book newly published by Moon City Press and edited Eric Pervukhin, Professor of Art and Design and artist Carla Stine will be featured at an editors’ and contributors’ reception hosted by the Departments of English and Art and Design at Missouri State University and the Missouri Literary Festival on Monday, September 19, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. in the Creamery Art Center Exhibition Hall, 411 N. Sherman Parkway.

Dwayne Crigger, Missouri State University Professor Emeritus of Art and Design, will give brief remarks on Smith’s life and work. A wine and cheese reception will follow. RSVP for the reception here.

Formal book sales will begin at the Missouri Literary Festival, September 23-25, 2011. Moon City Press is an academic small press sponsored by the Departments of English and Art and Design at Missouri State University.
