ArtsFiesta is a celebration of Mexican culture, which for 2010 features an all-female Mariachi band, Mariachi Femenil Nuevo Tecalitlan, from Springfield’s sister city of Tlaquepaque, Mexico. Sponsored by the Springfield Sister Cities Association, they traveled to Springfield to perform for the 30th annual ArtsFest, a fine arts outdoor festival. While in town, the group also gave performances at numerous public schools, the local universities, and the Boys and Girls club.

Springfield Sister Cities Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people of the City of Springfield and people of similar cities in foreign nations acquire a consciousness of each other and to understand one another as individuals, as members of their community, and as part of our global community.
