In January 2010, some 500 New York City cabs will take a break from displaying advertising to show the work of artists selected to create conceptual works for the moving video screens that sit on top of the cars. Contemporary art fan and Show Media owner John Amato is donating the ad space to give back to the city, rather than discount his rates for the traditionally slow sales month. The project is called “Art Adds” because “art adds to the public’s vision.”
