An exhibition of Monte Toon’s watercolor art will be on exhibition at The Creamery Arts Center during the month of November. A public opening reception will be held on First Friday Art Walk, November 2, 2012 from 6:00pm – 9:00pm. The show will remain open until Saturday, December 1, 2012.
“I am looking forward to this event,” Toon said. “The variety of works and offerings of the SRAC speaks volumes for the interest and devotion to the arts in Springfield and the surrounding area.” Toon is a native of Kansas with more than 43 years of professional watercolor experience. His award-winning work has been displayed in numerous solo exhibitions throughout Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.
“We are extremely pleased to have the opportunity to bring Mr. Toon’s artwork to our community,” said Stephanie Cramer, SRAC’s Director of Programs and Exhibitions. “This event meshes directly with our mission of offering quality and diversity in the arts for the Springfield region.”
Artist Talk
Toon will present a free artist talk at The Creamery on Monday, November 5 from 7:00pm – 8:00pm.
Two-Day Workshop
He will also offer a two day watercolor technique workshop at The Creamery on Tuesday, November 6 and Wednesday, November 7 from 9:00am – 4:00pm. The cost of this workshop is $125. A third day of the workshop is being offered on Thursday, November 8 for an additional $60.
